Overseas Welfare Officer

WHAZZUP?:D

Hi, my name is Alexey Morgunov, I am a slightly crazy first-year biological NatSci and the current Overseas Welfare Officer.

Trinity has a large international community of students literally from all over the world. Being one of them, I know for a fact that no matter what country you come from, here at Trinity you will feel at home. As the Overseas Welfare Officer it is my first and foremost goal to make sure that this does not change.

I would like to make the international community of Trinity even stronger by organising international formals within Trinity and with other colleges; and by encouraging setting up and participating in existing cultural societies on College and University level. From just chatting about things back home in your native language to more formal cultural evenings where anyone can learn a great deal about a foreign nation – the possibilities are endless with the diverse community we have.

Last but not least, I feel it imperative to provide support and guidance to the next generation of overseas Freshers. First steps in a new country are never easy and the Overseas Committee will be there to see to it that every Fresher feels comfortable in their new environment. As the Overseas Welfare Officer, I am committed to making our College a place where overseas students do not lose connection with their culture and where all the different cultures form one community.

If you have any problems, questions, concerns, ideas, complaints or just simply want to talk, please do not hesitate to contact me on overseas@tcsu.net, asm63@cam.ac.uk or 07508324777. Or just visit me at Y9 Angel Court - my door is usually open when I am home and I always have cookies;)

Overseas Welfare Officer “office hours” (Y9 Angel): Mon 8:00-9:00pm Tue 5:00-6:00pm Wed 9:30-10:30pm Thu 5:00-6:00pm Fri 4:00-5:00pm Sat 5:00-6:00pm Sun 10:00am-12:00pm
