Welfare

This is the welfare part of the TCSU website. It's our job to try and keep you safe and happy. Trinity College has two welfare officers - one male and one female, but both are available to all students who may need their help, regardless of gender. Your Male Welfare officer is Josh Mills (male-welfare@tcsu.net), and your female welfare officer is Kate Wiles (female-welfare@tcsu.net). There is also an international welfare officer, whose role is to ensure the well-being and integration of all foreign students studying at Trinity. Alexey Morgunov can be reached on overseas@tcsu.net.

Keep checking this page for updates – I’ll be keeping you informed on any Welfare news, both from college and around the university, as I get it. In the meantime, here are a few (perhaps not particularly well-kept) secrets:

  • All the important numbers you need, from the college nurse to the porters’ lodge to local taxi firms, should be pinned on your bathroom doors, particularly in first year rooms. If they are not there, please let Oli, the domestic officer, know about it.
  • You are entitled to free contraception courtesy of TCSU. If you would like some, just drop me an email and I will put it in your pigeon-holes. Girls, if you would like either pregnancy tests or rape alarms, you can get them from Marie.
  • It is possible to get a dental check-up and hygienist service at the Cambridge Dental Centre for just £15. The number to call to arrange an appointment with them is 01223 332 860
  • The TIMEOUT Art Group is a free art group for all students of the university. It is held in the art room at Kettle's Yard, Castle Hill, Cambridge (Castle Hill is straight across the traffic lights, up from Magdalene College) every Thursday in term time from 1.30-3.30pm. There is no need to sign up for it. The art room is a light airy space where people can use the wide range of art materials provided, in any way they wish, from making a mess to creating a more structured art work, a great way to relax and have fun. It is facilitated by Carol Davies (cd219) an art therapist at the University Counselling Service.
